Intro

I MISS YOU... WE MISS EACH OTHER...

We made some promises in high school. Promises at graduation that we would keep in touch, hangout together, and most of all stay friends…Pffft! Like we all kept those, regardless of how much we meant them at the time. Social media may be a way to stay in contact, but things like Facebook are truly insignificant ways to communicate; so many friends, so little detail. Real life has pulled us far apart. Some of us are moms and dads, husbands and wives, boyfriends and girlfriends, and some of us just plain dropped off the face of the earth. We have gotten so caught up in our own lives that we have forgotten, ignored, or pushed aside the friends that got us to this point in our lives. The best friends that pushed us through that final senior year when we all thought we were going to die, who signed our yearbooks with super long and colorful messages. The friends that we laughed with, cried with, danced at prom with, sought advice from, used to spend all our time with, and the ones that understood us the most to the point where we did not have to explain ourselves to everyone. Where are those people?

I can tell you.

Those exact people are reading and writing this blog. This blog is about reconnecting, about trying to remember that closeness we had those years in school we all spent together. I do not want us to become like the stereotypical high school friends, who fall apart the moment they graduate and only see each other at reunions or at the store – occasionally – and just pass right on by each other without a word.

I know that we cannot meet face-to-face all the time to catch up, but this blog is a more significant way to stay in touch. We can post whatever we want, in as much or little detail as we want, and the only ones who will see it will be us. We can post random things, pictures, share what we are thinking, and have someone listen to it.

I get so caught up and busy between school and work that I hardly have time to go anywhere or do anything. Plus, I hardly look at my phone (I lose it a lot too!) or spend much time on Facebook. And that is just me, I know that some of you are doing the same thing but raising a child/family as well. You have your hands full and I admire that! With this blog, we can share stories, funny quotes/thought, get advice because we knew each other so well, or read about what is going on in each other’s live with a sense of connectedness and closeness that we had.

I miss you all!!

Kassie
